The Challenge

Since ancient times, Moata’ane (roosters) in Tonga are considered quite special. They are popularly referred to as messengers. Every dawn is heralded by their call and so is each dusk. Moata’ane also stand for authenticity, courage and strength in the ‘friendly islands’. This classic scene of two Moata’ane getting ready to fight ,while the others disperse nervously is a frequent and entertaining sight !
