“Can a woman forget her nursing child, And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.” – the Bible (Isaiah 49:15) .
This is one of the paintings that helped Ilaisa release his anguish and hurt after his son Hosanna was stillborn. This verse really spoke to him, and he truly felt GOD’s unconditional love slowly but steadily raise him and his wife out of the deep shadow of despair.
The background silhouettes in various states of loneliness, hurt & rejection represent the states of India. The mother and child in the center, represent the one thing all of us yearn and long for – Unconditional love. Truth is, there is only one source from where we can indeed get this, and that is in GOD’s embrace.
The colour scheme has been kept aligned to the colours of the Indian flag.
